Complaints:
1. Fresno Management is violating federal law by allowing and encouraging permanent and seasonal employees to work as PCF's while employed by CDF.
2. Fresno Management is violating federal law by requiring re-hire employees to use their own time to, "sign-up". Also they use their own time to, "sign-out". Work done for the state must be compensated.
VICTORY - 12-09-05 Determined by Management that work related activities related to appointment and separation qualify as, "hours worked" and are compensable under FLSA.

Firefighter sleeptime interruption Grievance
Status unsettled - Denied at local level
Fresno Management is denying Firefighter I's overtime during move-up and cover assignments. CDF Firefighters in Sacramento is anxious to get this grievance and is confident this practice will be found to go against CDF policy and the MOU..
Meal Grievance
Status Settled - Awarded at 3rd level
Fresno Management attempted to write policy that superseded our MOU by reducing the cost per meal that schedule A employees were entitled to when held on duty. Fresno Unit has gone back to CDF / DPA guidelines since filing.
2on / 2off Grievance
Status Settled - Awarded
Fresno Management moved employees shift from 3on/4off to a 2on/2off with out the permission /consent of the employees. Alternate shift patterns require employee consent.
Amador IRA/NIRA Grievance
Status Settled - Denied at 3rd level
Fresno Management is switching employees from IRA / NIRA contrary to the intent of the MOU. Amador employees are being put on NIRA when they go to training or take vacation excluding these employees from receiving FLSA overtime for that period of time.
PLP rollover for Firefighters Grievance
Status settled - Denied at 3rd level
Fresno Management has denied Firefighter I the ability to choose to "cash out" or "roll over" PLP days. Rollover of their vacation and holidays was denied at 3rd level because of State law. CDF, DPA and CDF Firefighters have agreed to re-write and/or change the wording of the law for the next contract.
